Characterizing gases, condensates and flowback fluids from hydraulically-fractured wells in the Montney Formation

Melissa MacDonald is working on her MSc in Geochemistry and Petroleum Hydrogeology with Prof. Mayer at the University of Calgary.

She received her BSc.Hon (2017) in Geology from the University of Alberta. Melissa’s current research is focusing on characterizing of gases, condensates and flowback fluids from hydraulically-fractured wells in the Montney Formation. Past research projects involved fingerprinting formation waters with geochemical techniques to identify fluid flow and potential borehole leaks.

Melissa volunteers with the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG) and enjoys running, skiing and hiking.
