Mitchell Boyne is working on his MPP in Public Policy with Prof. Winter at the University of Calgary. He received a BSc (2015) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta.
Mitchell’s current research is exploring potential regulatory frameworks for the partial upgrading of bitumen in Alberta.
He is registered as an EIT with APEGA and has two years’ experience working as a reservoir engineer on in-situ oil sands projects with ConocoPhillips, where he developed production forecasts and optimized operating strategies. Mitchell has completed several internships in the energy sector, including one in completions engineering and one in oilfield equipment design. During his MPP studies, he has received two academic awards.
In his free time, Mitchell enjoys playing basketball, hiking, and travelling.
