Numerical modelling of hydraulic fracturing and induced seismicity
Scott McKean is working on his PhD in Geoscience-Engineering with Prof. Priest at the University of Calgary.
He received his MSc (2017) in Geophysics at University of Calgary, and his B-Eng in Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary.
Scott’s current research focuses on numerical modelling of hydraulic fracturing and induced seismicity. Before returning to academia, he worked as a consulting geoenvironmental engineer for >8 years.
Scott is passionate about sustainability and accreditd as a LEED AP and ENV SP and works with Engineers Without Borders to effect systems change and poverty elimination. He loves mountain sports and is roughly proficient in French.
